Seed Library

Seed Libraries at Marinette County Libraries will open for the season on Monday, March 25, 2024. Visit your local branch to check out their Seed Library.
The goals of the library are to:

• Make growing healthy food accessible for everyone by providing this free resource
• Create opportunities for native and heirloom plants to be shared
• Encourage community involvement by saving seeds and returning them for future growing seasons
• Offer classes taught by Master Gardeners and other volunteers to teach growing techniques, seed saving, food preservation, and more

Borrow
Seeds are available while supplies last, and seed selection varies by location. Please take what you can plant, and leave or return seeds you cannot plant this season. Our Seed Library includes vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. You do not need to be a Marinette County Library cardholder to use the Seed Library.

Learn
We've put together a Reader's Guide to print books, digital books, and digital magazines you can checkout with a library card. We've also pulled some helpful ideas together in a Grower's Guide to make getting started a little less intimidating.

Grow
Each seed packet includes directions for planting and growing the seed in the packet.
