Care & Management of Healthy Lawns
Presenter: Scott Reuss, UW-Madison, Division of Extension Horticulture Agent

Description: Lawns in far Northeast Wisconsin require proper management to look their best, but they don't need your undivided attention, either.  This discussion will focus on optimum timing of the key management tactics you can do to provide for a healthy lawn, without having to spend too much time and money on inputs. Concepts we'll discuss will include mowing, fertilizing, weed control, and other pests to watch for this year. PowerPoint slides available for download.

Excess Water's Effects on Our Plants

Presenter: Scott Reuss, UW-Madison, Division of Extension Horticulture Agent

Description: Our area has experienced two very wet growing seasons and our perennial plants are paying the price. Plants in the entire region have had more water and humidity than usual, causing excess disease pressure and higher stress levels.  Plants in some spots are literally fighting for their lives as they have saturated root systems or are completely under water. We'll review what we can do to assist our plants as best we can, and what plants will show that let you know they are stressed. PowerPoint slides available for download.
