The Marinette County Public Libraries are currently closed, but the public is invited to attend programs online through our Facebook pages. We miss seeing all of you, and our online programming is one way we can all stay connected while we are practicing the “Safer at Home” guidelines. Tune in for specified dates and times to participate “live”, or view the recorded program at your convenience.
From the “Crivitz Public Library” on Facebook, Librarian Tabatha leads Storytime, and cooking and crafting for kids events. The next live Storytime sessions will be on April 23 and 30 at 10 AM. For the live craft events on Mondays at 10 AM, use recyclable or common household items to turn into crafts. Watch the Crivitz Public Library on Facebook for the next live baking event; kids use ingredients that are in many homes to make something simple. Adults are encouraged to work with their children to create and cook.
From the “Stephenson Public Library” on Facebook, join the “SPL Community Clubhouse” Group to participate in programs. We have programs for children like “Music Makers & Shakers” on Mondays, Storytime on Tuesdays, Lego Club and Itsy Bitsy Storytime on Wednesdays. Other programs are available for teens and will be available for adults.
The 2020 Reading Challenge for adults continues for all our public libraries. The challenge is to read 50 books in one year from a variety of categories to help you find and read books you might not have considered reading before. Some of the categories include: a book by an author with your initials, a book you never finished, a book you have at home but haven’t read, and a book recommended by a friend. The Reading Challenge form is available on the library’s website and on Facebook.
If you’re not ready to take the 2020 Reading Challenge, consider taking the Paper Chain Reading Challenge. This challenge is for everyone at home. To participate, cut up a few strips of paper. For every book you read, use the paper to make a link in a chain. Make your chain longer by reading more books!
